Getting Around Milan

Milan Malpensa International Airport
The Malpensa International Airport is located at Varese in Milan is considered as the second busiest airport in terms of tiotal passengers next to the Leonardo da Vinci International airport. It is also one of the top freight air gateways to Italy. Malpensa is also one of the three international airports situated in Milan. Because of the influx of passengers, this airport can serve up to 15 million passengers.

Passengers can either board the train, taxi or bus when going to the Malpensa Airport. If a person decides to ride the train, he/she can ride at Terminal 1 and get off at the Milan Cadorna Station. On the other hand, buses and shuttles connect the airport to the Milan Central Station. The taxi is the least recommended transportation means because of the traffic experienced in and out of Milan.

Car Hire
Car hire in Milan is a good idea so that you will be able to travel easily to view the major attractions in this city. Arranging to pick up your rental vehicle at one of the airport locations or in the city means you will have transportation available from the moment you arrive in the city until the time to drop off the vehicle and return to the skies. Milan is a beautiful city, but it's old and doesn't always have the same type of driving arrangements as you would find in your home city so caution is recommended.

Train
Malpensa Express connects Malpensa Airport with the city centre (Cadorna Station). The journey takes 40min and the train stops at Saronno and Milano Bovisa. It is a private owned railway by the city of Milan therefore travellers don't have to be afraid of striking railway staff and not getting their flights.

Bus
Journey of 50 minutes from Central Station (piaza Luigi di Savoia) each 10minutes starting at 5 am and from Malpensa starting 6:30 am. Prices 5.50€ for adults and 2,75€ for children from 3- 12 years.
